2012 has been the busiest and most successful year so far in the still relatively short history of the rapidly expanding 50WEAPONS label.
The year started and ended with Benjamin Damage. His debut album “They!Live” with Swansea mate Doc Daneeka was released end of January. The album got fantastic reviews worldwide and helped to bring the name Benjamin Damage to a wider audience. End of February 2013 Benjamin will release his solo debut album, so we thought, who´d be a better choice than him, to review 2012 with a digital only selection of his personal label favourites of the year.
The compilation features tracks from such established names like Shed, Cosmin TRG, Addison Groove and Phon.o, but also young emerging artists like Bambounou from Paris or Dark Sky from London, next to the elegantly mystic Anstam and his future facing sound adventures. 2012 overall has been a bit less UK-centric and a bit more back to the techno roots, especially compared to last years output or the very first releases on the label.
